Review of the 2010 Saturn Aura

Introduction
The 2010 Saturn Aura is a refined mid-size sport sedan that achieves best-in-class highway fuel economy of 33 mpg. The four-door five-passenger 2010 Saturn Aura is offered in XE, XR-4, XR-V6, and Hybrid versions with a standard front-wheel drive configuration. StabiliTrak stability control with brake assist and Bluetooth connectivity are standard features on the Aura.

Exterior Design and Special Features
The 2010 Saturn Aura is equipped with plenty of useful interior and impressive exterior features such as oil life monitor; driver information center with instantaneous fuel economy reading; warning chimes; laminated steel dash; air conditioning; cruise control; cup holders; console; halogen headlamps; defogger; XM Satellite Radio; power door locks; 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks; remote keyless entry; sunglass storage; retained accessory power; assist handles; interior ambient lighting; driver and front passenger bucket seats; LED backlit instrumentation; steering wheel audio controls; and CD/MP3 player with AM/FM stereo and six speakers. Maximum luggage space is 14.9 cubic feet in all Aura models excluding the Hybrid which has a trunk capacity of 13.1 cubic feet.

Engine
Three engine types are available on the 2010 Saturn Aura: A 169-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing is fitted on the XE and XR-4, a similar hybrid propulsion engine is used under the hood of the Hybrid model, and a 252-horsepower 3.6-liter DOHC, 24-valve, V6 engine with VVT powers the XR-V6 trim. A six-speed automatic transmission with TAPshift is standard on the XE, XR-4, and XR-V6, while a Hybrid-specific four-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Hybrid version. Estimated EPA of the XE and XR-4 trims is 22/33 mpg (city/highway). The XR-V6 has a fuel economy rating of 17/26 mpg (city/highway), while the Hybrid model achieves 26/34 mpg (city/highway).

Safety
The 2010 Saturn Aura has received five-star crash safety rating. It is loaded with the latest safety features such as dual-stage frontal airbags with passenger sensing system; head curtain side airbags; front side-mounted side-impact airbags; front and rear crumple zones; child security locks; traction control system; lower anchorages and top tethers for children in all rear seating positions; side impact door beams; hands-free activated calling; active front head restraints; and OnStar with one-year Safe and Sound Plan.
